Fiona Trafford-Walker, Director of Consulting with Frontier Advisors was recently ranked amongst the world’s top 25 most influential investment consultants by respected international finance journal aiCIO. Trafford-Walker has been regarded as one of Australia’s most prominent and successful asset consultants for more than a decade, however this is believed to be the first time a comprehensive list of international consultants has been compiled and published.
She is one of only two Australians on the list (Ken Marshman being the other) and one of only six women from around the globe. The ranking was based on “consultants who have most shaken up the world of investment consulting since 2008” and reflects on the five year period from the GFC through to now.
Last night at a gala function in Sydney, Fiona was awarded the title of Woman of the Year in the inaugural Money Magazine/Super Review Women in Financial Services Awards.
The awards, which acknowledge and reward exceptional female members of the financial services industry, culminated with Fiona’s recognition as one of the leading figures in the superannuation industry.
Deemed by her peers an inspirational leader and mentor for many in the financial services industry, Trafford-Walker has long been a strong voice in debating issues around value and fairness in fees charged by fund managers.
Geoff Ashton, Frontier Advisors Chairman congratulated Trafford-Walker on the twin achievements. “This is well deserved personal recognition for Fiona and we’re enormously proud of her. “Knowing Fiona I’d imagine she would want to share the acknowledgement with her team at Frontier, and there’d be some justification in that. But, ultimately it is exciting for Frontier, our clients, and I think for the Australian investment industry overall for Fiona to gain this kind of recognition both internationally and in our own market.”
Trafford-Walker has played a significant role in the growth of Frontier Advisors since the business was established in 1999. With funds under advice of more than $150 billion Frontier has grown its team by more than 20 per cent over the last two years to respond to changing demands for its services.
