Aligning interests between asset owners and investment managers to support better net of fee outcomes for all beneficiaries was a primary focus of Fiona Trafford-Walker for the duration of her twenty-five year career at Frontier, but especially so since developing a set of guiding fee principles with her then JANA counterpart, Ken Marshman, in 2010. These fee principles were developed following a Frontier research paper written by Fiona shortly after the GFC in late 2009. In this edition of The Frontier Line , Fiona reflects on developments in the last decade and, in collaboration with the Frontier Investment Committee, presents a ‘Frontier Fee Philosophy’ to guide the way forward.
